The ISIS Academy offers professional development training in two levels:
Level 1: Core Classes (1-3 days, or online)
They help you become familiar with basic tools and methods essential to the practice of sustainability, as well as helping you explore your learning frontiers as an agent and leader of change. These workshops acquaint you with the ISIS Method as well as the ISIS Accelerator, the widely adopted toolkit for applying the ISIS Method.
Level 2: Master Classes (4-6 days)
Master Classes are intensive residential training programs designed for leaders and change agents who are seeking to up-level their skills, while also growing personally in ways to become more effective and convincing. Master Classes are held at the “train-the-trainer” level and intended to support the participants to help others in achieving sustainability goals.

Underlying all ISIS Academy courses is the “ISIS Method”, a sequenced and collaborative approach to tackling sustainability challenges in a systemic way. “ISIS” stands for Indicators, Systems, Innovation, and Strategy, the four stages in the processes of learning and planning for sustainability. Most of our Core Classes focus single elements of the ISIS Method. At the Master Class level, all courses are also organized around a method called API (an approach first developed by Bath Consultancy Group)- Authority, Presence, and Impact.
Authority as a Sustainability Change Agent or Change Leader is always attributed by outside stakeholders. Tapping into once strengths, the depth of knowledge, and the variety of experience builds the sense of self-esteem that others will perceive as authority.
Presence is the ability to read the moment and to build a strong relationship with all stakeholders involved in the change process. Every sustainability change process is full of obstacles, resistance, and unexpected moments. Presence is the key capability one needs to come up with strong, effective interventions on the spot.
Impact is the measure of the difference between what a Change Agent says and suggests, and what is actually accepted and followed by other people. Many people have deep knowledge or a burning passion for an issue, but too few have (or work consciously to develop) the trust of others, which turns them into leaders or advisors who can really make change happen.
Through theory, reflection, and practice, working in teams and individually, we create an experiential atmosphere to work on both ISIS and API. Our highly interactive, hands-on, learn-by-doing methods ensure that participants will not just “learn about“ sustainability and change – they will gain new skills and real competencies that build on their own experience.
Moreover, ISIS Academy methods combine intellectual and human challenges with an enjoyable training experience — and with the joy of making a meaningful difference in the world.
The ISIS Academy offers a unique blend: serious and demanding objectives, with an uplifting and positive atmosphere. And this is exactly what the best sustainability initiatives do, as well.
